Due to the rise in T.V for adults in the last few years it seems that kids shows have become the sacrificial lamb. Family Channel live action shows are almost single handy killing North America kids brain cell and defining the word "laziness". As quality seems to disappear from Kids shows it time to celebrate those that are really trying(or tried) in today's modern kids landscape.
Dave The Barbarian
A show that easily could have been a terrible one note joke that manage to become a great show thanks to great writing, good animation, great fourth wall jokes and ultimately randomness kept this hilarious. It a shame that the show last for only 21 episodes.
iCarly
Although iCarly suffers from the same problems that a lot of Family shows suffer from . It gets past that label with real characters, a sense of reality that is missing from most shows and being much more self aware that most shows.
6teen
There always two lines when it comes to kids show a unspoken line and the line before the show simply becomes a adult show. 6teen crossed the unspoken line and came pretty close to the real line. 6teen was able to tell real stories and create real lasting character development while keeping a certain wackiness about it. (I'm not counting the final season because different writers were brought in.)
Foster Home for Imaginary Friends
This show is a very close second. Great animation, character and writing already made this a good show. But Ultimately it was a wackiness that has never has been topped in modern day television that made this show the classic it was . Almost every gag worked because it was so silly and the very fact that when I have chocolate milk I think of Cheese makes this show an awesome show.
Phineas and Ferb
Although it took some time for the show to find it's identity and Candence is really annoying this is an amazing show . It is able to keep solid slapstick, great one liners ,fourth wall jokes and references to movies T.V shows with ease. With Incredible music numbers every episode. It still keeps an incredible amount of imagination and cleverness about it. All funny and well developed characters(except Cadence) and a great amount of celebrity appearnces make this show the top of modern kids shows.
